2022 Updated Requirements for Category Testing and Periodic Inspection of Elevators

Changes have been implemented to the vertical transportation testing and inspection requirements in New York City as of January 1, 2022.  Some additional updates were also recently distributed by the Department of Buildings.

The following is a reference summary for the new requirements, and how they differ from previous requirements. Changes are bolded and in highlighted cells.
