In order to ensure that elevator and escalator systems are code-compliant and operate safely, several jurisdictions have implemented mandated third-party inspection and test witnessing programs. Jurisdictions including New York City, Chicago, Washington DC, Denver, Maryland, Texas, and Florida have implemented mandated annual inspections or test witnessing requirements to be performed by a licensed third-party hired by the building owner.

BOCA Group maintains a large staff of QEI-certified and locally licensed inspectors and performs these services on thousands of elevators and escalators each year. In select jurisdictions, BOCA Group uses proprietary inspection software to track and document the results of these inspections and witnessed tests to ensure compliance with local requirements, and regularly follow up with the contractor to verify they are fulfilling their obligations.
